I want a proper (legal) receipt for a mortgage payment. How do I obtain this?

Since its inception in late July of this year, my refi has transferred. This is not surprising to me. But, I have now received my second notice of the transfer of servicing rights on my mtg.



I want to protect myself in this day and age of mtg lending fraud and mtg servicing fraud. When I received the second notification, I contacted the servicer that received my first (Oct 1) payment and asked for a receipt of payment.



What I received was only a ';print screen'; copy of a ledger acct. It does not show my acct no., it only shows my last name, and it does not identify the servicer at all. This will not do.



Should I sent a certified letter? Actually, I probably will. But, are there certain ';words'; I should say to obtain the documention I want for my records? A cancelled check used to be good enough, but from what I have read lately, that doesn't fly anymore.
